SAFAR Recruitment started with a simple mission: connect South Africans with reliable, rewarding seasonal work in the United States.
What began as a small operation in the farming town of Clarens has grown into a trusted name in H2A recruitment.
Founded by Petrus Du Plessis, a farmer with decades of experience and a passion for people, SAFAR continues to place candidates where they’re needed most.

Petrus knew the world didn’t lack jobs or workers, just connection.

SAFAR Recruitment is run by Petrus du Plessis, who personally manages every step. From screening to visa prep, with decades of experience in both farming and international placements.

Director
Petrus du Plessis understands the pressure of finding the right people, because he’s been on both sides. Having grown up on a farm in Limpopo, Petrus knows firsthand how important reliable, hard-working labour is to any farming operation.
With more than 20 years of experience in international travel and cross-border placement, he’s helped hundreds of skilled workers navigate the complexities of working abroad. Today, as the Director of SAFAR Recruitment, Petrus works with US farms to identify their labour needs and match them with South African candidates who are not only qualified, but ready to go.
Petrus has strong ties with agricultural universities and uses his deep local network to find candidates that are vetted, coached, and H2A-ready. Whether it’s general farm work or specialised agricultural roles, his focus is always the same: deliver trustworthy people who’ll do the job well, and stay the course.
